Project Objectives
To expand what’s possible with effects, we created Effect House – a platform that allows anyone to build Community Effects for TikTok. Effect House has been in closed beta since last fall, and today we’re excited to open the beta to all creators, designers, and developers from around the world, inviting them to imagine new frontiers for TikTok’s effects universe.

Led the Effect House Template Team to:

Here are some key outcomes of the team efforts:

Delivered 20–25 high-quality templates per quarter, with over 120 templates produced in total, contributing significantly to the platform’s creative ecosystem.

Achieved a remarkable conversion rate of 40%, meaning nearly half of TikTok effects were generated using our templates, highlighting their widespread adoption and impact.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborated with the track leader and product manager to define strategy and oversee daily operations of template production.

Ensured consistent delivery of high-quality templates through meticulous maintenance, transparent communication, and effective cross-team collaboration with engineering, product management, design, and QA teams.

Designed and produced templates from ideation to development, contributing approximately one-third of the total templates.

Prepared comprehensive documentation by writing detailed tutorials, recording engaging video guides, and hosting live courses on YouTube to educate and inspire creators.
